QualCore Logic Named Member of IBM IP Collaboration Program; Provides Crucial Semiconductor Intellectual Property to Mutual Customers
SUNNYVALE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—June 8, 2004—
QualCore Logic Inc., an intellectual property (IP) and
full-service, mixed-signal application specific integrated circuit
(ASIC) realization company, today announced said that it has become a
member of IBM's IP Collaboration Program.
Established in March 2002, the program promotes close working
relationships between IBM and leading third-party Intellectual
Property (IP) vendors and their ASIC customers, helping to ensure
first-time-right designs are completed right the first time, and rapid
time to market of chips for advanced electronic systems products for
their ASIC customers. It fosters close working relationships between
IBM and select third-party providers such as QualCore Logic to
facilitate customer utilization of IP that has been proven in IBM's
leading ASIC manufacturing technologies.
"High-end systems developers are demanding best-in-class third
party IP that is known to work in leading semiconductor processes,"
says Mahendra Jain, president of QualCore Logic. We are pleased to
offer a new path to customer success through the IBM IP Collaboration
Program."
Recognized by electronics industry analysts as critical to the
design and manufacture of next-generation expensive products,
third-party IP licensing mechanisms have been developed to address
requirements for specific electronic functions that require in-depth,
application-specific design expertise. With the IBM IP Collaboration
Program, third-party IP is available for licensing directly from IBM
program members, including QualCore Logic, to integrate into ASICs
manufactured by IBM.
"The IP Collaboration Program has been well received by customers
who require a range of design and manufacturing options to meet design
and time-to-market goals," notes Tom Reeves, vice president,
Semiconductor Products and Solutions , IBM Systems & Technology Group.
"It increases offerings in the IBM library of technical solutions and
helps enable select third-party providers such as QualCore Logic to
offer their solutions within the IBM design methodology."
Qualcore Logic IP block to be made available are M8051TC
(Configurable 8-bit Microcontroller), M8051TCX (Configurable 8-bit
Microcontroller with Extended Addressing), V9901OCPv (12S Controller
with OCP Interface), Memory controller V8101 (AHB Based), V6001 (AMBA
AHB - APB Bus Bridge),V8102 (Xtensa TM - PIF to AMBA AHB Bus Bridge),
V1002x (Xtensa TM - PIF to OCP AMBA OCP Interface), M16550APB (UART
with FIFO and with APB Bus Interface), M8254APB (Interval Timer with
APB Bus Interface), M146818APB (Real Time Clock with APB Bus
Interface).
